The impact of ADHD on romantic relationships is discussed frequently. So why is no one talking about how ADHD affects a couple’s sex life? Sexuality is an important part of adult life. A couple’s sex life can be a source of strife and disagreement or of positive connection and rejuvenation. Couples where one partner has ADHD will face many of the same sexual struggles as any other couple, but perhaps more so.
This session will help attendees create a more rewarding sex life and relationship by overturning common myths that get in the way of both. We will discuss how intimacy begins with being honest with oneself and then being honest with a partner. True intimacy involves being able to be open about the things that our partners may not agree or be comfortable with. The couples that can manage this discomfort well are better able to create a mutually satisfying sex life by negotiating out their differences most effectively. This process of addressing sexual disagreements also strengthens the relationship as a whole and drives the personal growth of each partner. A good sex life isn’t just about fun; it makes you a better partner and a better person.
