Description
Many people with ADHD commonly engage in body focused compulsive and repetitive behaviors (BFRB), such as skin picking (dermotillomania), hair pulling (trichotillomania), and nail biting. These behaviors are annoying at best and can be tormenting at worst.
Dr. Roberto Olivardia will share ADHD-friendly treatment interventions, as well as ways of counteracting the negative self-talk many with BFRB experience. Attention will be placed on how not addressing the ADHD in BFRB treatment can make for ineffective treatment, since ADHD symptoms affect one’s ability to engage in traditional treatment interventions.
